Today I was talking to a friend about their upcoming surgery which allowed me to share one of my favorite surgery stories. There are quite a few - I did read over the post-op report and was both amused and horrified when I saw some checkboxes for body type and the checkbox that was checked for me was "ROUND". Hmm.
After surgery, I was given a handful of prescriptions that I immediately caught as a circle. So I called it the circle of medicine. That doesn't have a lot of fanfare - you could imagine "THE CIRCLE... OF... MEDICINE!!" Anyway, here was the progression:
1. Oxycodone for the pain, but that causes constipation
2. Colace for the constipation, but it causes nausea
3. Relgan for nausea, but it causes anxiety
4. Xanax for the anxiety, but it causes you to eat which make more poop
5. Repeat
Anyway, like the image, I went against doctor's orders and just took a couple Ibuprofen instead.
I guess the other story was when I couldn't pee for like 12 hours after surgery. That's another fun one.
